Parc nature La Gabelle (Corporation Inter-Rive La Gabelle)

A trading centre between the Amerindians and the French in the early days of the colony, La Gabelle nature park has a long history. Here fishing enthusiasts can enjoy excellent access to the Saint-Maurice River. A fine network of walking and cross-country ski trails is enhanced by attractive sculptures based on nature themes. There are two boat launching ramps and a lookout providing another view of the river and on the unique “Art Deco” style power station. The serviced picnic sites are a perfect place to stop and appreciate the sounds of the river.
