Centre d’interprétation acadien

Come and learn about Bécancour’s Acadian history at the permanent exhibit in the Vieux Moulin de Saint-Grégoire. Go to the Petite École to discover Monstres du lac Saint-Paul, a new permanent exhibit about Acadian ship building. After the deportation, some Acadian families settled at Lake Saint-Paul, beginning in 1758. Among them were the Cormier family, also called Rossignol, a family of master ship builders, a skill handed down from father to son. They built many types of vessels, including schooners, snow-brigs, brigs and sloops. Finish your visit with a stroll along the walking trail with 16 information panels.
