Église de Saint-Léon-Le-Grand

The parish of Saint-Léon-le-Grand, founded in 1802, is honoured to have the oldest parish church in the diocese of Trois-Rivières. Thanks to donations from benefactors supporting various members of the Fondation du patrimoine culturel et religieux du Québec, major restoration was done from 1998 to 2002. For your discovery…the church s original interior (1819-1865), the altarpiece in the form of a canopy, the pulpit and sounding board, the angel with trumpets, the Cross and Corpus sculpted in 1838, Stations of the Cross in plaster (Carli), an Easter candlestick carved in 1833 and a museum/interpretation centre located in the vestry-chapel constructed in 1905. Classified a Historic Monument on March 10, 2010.
